Auditions usually last for about 30-45 minutes and take place during our rehearsals on Wednesday nights between 8:00-8:45pm (rehearsals are from 7:30pm-9:30pm). They include the following components:
- Warm up with the Musical Director: Remember that even the warm-ups are part of your audition, so please give us your best the whole time. I would encourage you to warm-up before the actual audition.
- Perform two short performance pieces of your choosing. One should be a faster, upbeat, pop-like song, and the other should be a slower song. We like to hear two songs with different sounds or styles that show off your voice. Please choose songs wisely - songs that best show off how great your voice is! To be clear, don't just choose songs that you like. Choose songs that best show off your voice!
- We'll teach you a short song from our repertoire that you will sing with other members, in order to hear voice blending.
